The American Sheep Industry Association Young Entrepreneurs Committee - in conjunction with the American Lamb Board - held a Summer Tour Aug. 5-7 in northern Colorado. One of the tour participants was Ryan Boner of Glenrock, WY.

The tour was based in Loveland, Colo., and stopped at some of the most innovative feeding operations in the country, discussed artificial insemination technology and embryo transfer, viewed the processing sector in Greeley, Colo., and learned about wildlife research and lamb flavor in Fort Collins, Colo.

Russell Nemetz talked with Ryan Boner from one of the tour stops about the opportunities for young people in today's U.S. sheep industry.

He also said the tour was great for networking with other like-minded young producers.

Make plans to attend 2019 American Sheep Industry Association Annual Convention in New Orleans January 23-26, 2019. For more information, visit www.sheepusa.org.
