2016 Wildland Fire Academy Registration Open

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Registration is open for the 2016 Wildland Fire Academy that will be held in Ft. Pierre, S.D., March 17-20.

This academy is an important tool in providing a quality training experience for volunteer fire departments (VFD) and state and federal firefighters. Grant funds are available for volunteer departments to offset the costs of participation.

“We have had numerous requests for entry level firefighting classes, the best training available is this academy setting where they can interact while learning,” said Robert Lehmann, assistant chief of training/fuels. “It is the most cost effective way for us as an agency to get the largest amount of firefighters properly trained.”
