Sidney Sugars Facility to be sold at Auction

by Brett McRae

It’s been a year since Sidney Sugars Incorporated shut down its Sugar Beet processing plant, a facility initially constructed in 1925. The plant has had a major economic impact on the area employing up to 300 people at its peak.

That facility will now come up for auction for liquidation of property and equipment with main processing, storage and shipping facilities sold through sealed bids by July 8 and the land, support equipment and vehicles through a timed online auction ending July 15.

A total of 262 lots are included in the sale, being handled by Maas Companies of Rochester, Minnesota.
