The bread was rising on the oven door as this couple posed for a photo at their small homestead in eastern Montana about 1905. The photo was taken by Evelyn Cameron who is known for capturing frontier scenes that show the daily life of those who settled Montana. Her collection is one of the most frequently used in the Montana Historical Society collection.
