On Friday the USDA released its Prospective Plantings Report in which corn plantings were bumped up by 1.9 million acres at the expense of lowering acreage for soybeans and wheat.
The Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz talked with Louise Gartner with Spectrum Commodities on Friday about this shift in acres and the surprises in the report.
Corn, soybean and wheat futures all closed sharply higher on the news and Louise explains whether or not farmers could see a rally this Spring.
And finally she has this advice for farmers when it comes to pricing their wheat and utilizing the risk management tools available.
