Addressing the Lack of Ag Ed Teachers in Montana

by

The National Teach Ag Campaign launched the State Teach Ag Results (STAR) program in the spring of 2014 to increase recruitment and retention efforts at the state level.

The STAR program is designed to assist states in creating sustainable and effective recruitment and retention plans. STAR states receive in-kind design and consultation services, access to Teach Ag grant funds, priority preference for Teach Ag Ambassador positions, promotion and assessment summaries.

Montana is just one of the multiple states working to address the need for more ag. education teachers and FFA advisors. The Northern Ag Networks Lane Nordlund spoke with Dr. Tracy Dougher, head of the Division of Ag Education at Montana State University about Montana's efforts.
