HELENA – A Senate Bill supported by the Montana Ag Coalition to assure uniform, knowledge-based regulation of Agricultural Seed is now before the Montana House.
SB155 carried by Sen. Mike Lang of Malta will be heard in the House Ag Committee at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7th.

As reported earlier by Northern Ag Network, SB155 was designed to help Montana avoid a dilemma that farmers in other states sometimes face, when local urban county and municipal governments try to pass laws that restrict farming practices. Such has happened in several western states like Oregon, Washington, California and most recently Colorado.
