Austin Meier Wins Billings PBR Invitational

by

Over the weekend my wife and I had the opportunity to head to PBR’s Built Ford Tough Series Stanley Tools and Security Invitational presented by the Nile where we saw the worlds best bulls face off against the worlds top riders.

As always Flint Rasmussen entertained fans young and old with his quick wit and stunts. He even threw in some of his signature dance moves.

And you can’t forget PBR’s unsung heros, Dickies Durabullfighters, risking their lives to protect the bull riders.

The event came to head Sunday evening with one last ride, Austin Meier from Kitna, Oklahoma against Cowboy Casanova a bull owned by Montana native Mesa Pate.

Mesa, 20, dedicates herself to correct care, nutrition, handling and general knowledge of cattle in order to provide the best bulls at the highest level of competition.

As a young woman in a male dominated industry, Mesa tries to be known for her knowledge and capabilities above all else. And she has no problem helping the rider and bull get settled in the chute.

To win Austin needed 82 points…

After covering his fourth bull, the points came in…87.75! Austin’s first Built Ford Tough Series win since 2010!

Afterwards I spoke with Austin about why he picked Cowboy Casanova.
