BLM RAC to host meeting for input on Pumpkin Creek

MILES CITY, Mont. — The Bureau of Land Management Resource Advisory Council will host a meeting April 23, at the Miles City Field Office to get public input on management options for the Pumpkin Creek Ranch and Recreation Area, located about 15 miles south along Highway 59.

The meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be held in the main conference room. Maps and informational materials will be on-hand, and RAC members will be available to talk to those who would like to offer input on various use opportunities as well as possible management options for this popular local destination.

A subcommittee of the Eastern Montana RAC is tasked with advising the BLM on options related to different uses that may take place on the area, which encompasses over 20,000 acres of contiguous BLM-administered Public Lands.

“The RAC is interested in hearing from the public about what they’d like to do and see done at Pumpkin Creek,” said Ed Bukoskey of Forsyth, chairman of the RAC Pumpkin Creek Subcommittee. “It’s important to get input locally, so those who use this area have a chance to be heard. The RAC would like to provide the best advice to the BLM as possible. It’s important for folks to come talk to us.”
