BLM Resource Advisory Council to meet in Chinook

 

(LEWISTOWN, Mont.) – The Bureau of Land Management Central Montana Resource Advisory Council will meet Oct. 6, at 10 a.m., and Oct. 7, at 8 a.m., in the Chinook Motor Inn, 100 Indiana St., Chinook, Mont. 

 

During these meetings the council is scheduled participate in, discuss and act upon these topics or activities: a roundtable discussion among council members and the BLM; update on BLM efforts to restore access to the Bullwhacker area and District Managers’ updates; and other ongoing resource management issues the council may raise. The council is scheduled to take a field trip to the Bullwhacker Coulee area Oct. 6, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

The meeting is open to the public and the public comment period is scheduled for 10 a.m. both days.  Interested parties may make oral statements before the council or file written statements for the council to consider. Depending on the number of people who wish to make comments, a per-person time limit may be established.

 

The purpose of the RAC is to advise the Secretary of Interior, through the BLM, on a variety of issues associated with public land management. The 15-member RAC includes individuals who have expertise or education in the planning and management of public lands and resources.
