The Caribou and Gibralter Ridge fires have burnt over 20,000 acres in Northwestern Montana in Lincoln County. The fires were started in early August by lightning strikes and are both less than 30{b9074abe8f97d35d556dcc91d04f630e2f89dbb1fa8fca20af3e4b7ae12c3e5a} contained. One of the biggest needs for those affected by the fire is hay and feed for livestock.
A full evacuation order is in effect for the West Kootenia area. A number of structures have been lost in the fire. The fire has extended across the border into Canada.
A public meeting will be held at the Eureka High School Auditorium on Wednesday September 6th, at 7:00 p.m.
