Darryl Worley & David Lee Murphy Headin to MT

With less than a month until the lights come on at the Rosebud Treasure County Fair in Forsyth, the fair lands a couple of big country stars for their Saturday night headliner. 

David Lee Murphy and Darryl Worley have 6 #1 songs between the two of them and will headline the show July 21st.

Worley is probably best known for the hit, “Have You Forgotten,” the powerful song reminding Americans about the horror of 9-11 after many in the United States seemed to have forgotten the people who were killed in the terrorist attacks.   Worley’s six albums have produced 18 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three Number Ones: “I Miss My Friend”, “Have You Forgotten?”, and “Awful, Beautiful Life”, from 2002, 2003 and 2004–2005, respectively. “Have You Forgotten?” spent seven weeks at Number One. Nine other singles have reached the Top 40.

David Lee Murphy is better known as a songwriter in Nashville, but has had a few hit songs of his own. Murphy’s four albums produced a total of thirteen singles on the country charts, including the Number One hit “Dust on the Bottle” from 1995 and four more Top Ten hits. Although he has not recorded since 2004, Murphy has co-written several singles for other artists, including the Number One hits “Living in Fast Forward” for Kenny Chesney, “Big Green Tractor” for Jason Aldean and “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” for Thompson Square.

The two artists will be part of the Paintin’ the Town tour at the fair.  If you had already purchased tickets for Tanya Tucker, those tickets will be honored for this show as well.  The fair does say refunds are available.

Tucker left the fair a bit high and dry, cancelling her show just 7 weeks before her scheduled performance.  No explanation has ever been given beyond “unforeseen circumstances.”
