Farm Economic Summit, Huron SD

by

The economic challenge facing South Dakota agriculture is lower margins. Margin reduction continues as commodity prices decrease and costs of production remain high. The key question is how to adjust operations with lower margins. What does a flexible cash rent look like? What is the commodity price outlook? What are the choices for cover crops? Where can I find cattle budgeting tools?

Speakers from SDSU Extension will explore farm management challenges, including commodity price outlooks, land values and rents, cover crop choices, cattle budgeting tools and commodity price risk strategies.
