Flooding Exposes Livestock to Disease Risks

While the urgent worry for several livestock producers around our region is getting livestock to higher ground, there are other worries that will follow.  Livestock surviving disasters are vulnerable to several diseases.  Also, comingling with other herds that may take place can lead to increased cases of respiratory disease and the spread of trichomoniasis.

The Louisiana State University Agriculture Center has put together this brief informational two-pager that identifies some of the problems that may be ahead for livestock producers dealing with disasters.
