BOZEMAN — Montana State University Extension in Gallatin County is offering a free public workshop about hay production basics. The workshop will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, in the Animal BioScience Building, room 138, on the MSU campus in Bozeman.
Emily Glunk, MSU Extension forage specialist, will discuss soil preparation; seeding–including variety selection and planting dates; irrigated versus dryland production; harvesting and baling best practices; and proper storage.

This workshop is intended for those new to hay production but will cover good management practices that apply to all hay producers.
Participants are asked to RSVP by Monday, May 2. Depending on interest, the workshop may be rescheduled.

To RSVP, contact MSU Extension in Gallatin County at (406) 388-3213. For more information, see http://www.msuextension.org/gallatin/.
