Lamb Board Wants to Give You Money!

Denver, CO – The American Lamb Board is now soliciting applications for both the Industry Matching Grant Programs and the Supplier Cooperative Programs.  The deadline for submitting applications is May 31, 2011.  The applications are available by contacting Rae Maestas at rae@americanlambboard.org or by visiting www.lambcheckoff.com

 

A total of $20,000 is available for funding Industry Matching Grant Programs. The Industry Matching Grant program was designed to fund projects and activities that promote American Lamb and further the goals and objectives of the American Lamb Board’s Strategic Plan.

 

A total $30,000 is available for funding Supplier Cooperative Programs. The American Lamb Board has developed the Supplier Coop Program to encourage American Lamb Suppliers to promote American Lamb products in the retail and/or foodservice sector.

 

All grants approved by ALB are subject to USDA’s review and approval.

 

The American Lamb Board (ALB) is a national promotion, research and information organization whose purpose is to strengthen the position of lamb and lamb products in domestic and foreign markets.  The 13-member board, appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture, is composed of six producers, three feeders, one seedstock producer and three first handlers.  The work of the Board is overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agriculture Marketing Service.
