Learn More About Oil and Gas Leases!

by

The following is a press release from the Montana Farmers Union:

GREAT FALLS, MT (Dec. 20, 2011) – The Montana Farmers Union will host three educational meetings about oil and gas leasing.  The January 18 & 19, 2012, meetings are designed to help landowners understand leasing options for natural resources and minerals associated with their property.

The free workshops will give landowners the tools they need to evaluate lease agreements for natural resources or right-of-ways on their land.

Presenters at the workshops will include Tim Fitzgerald, Montana State University Agricultural Economist at MSU-Bozeman; Herb Vasseur, Chinook, president of Montana Land and Mineral Owners Association and a MFU member; and Jerry Simmons, from Tulsa, OK, executive director, of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO).

Meeting times and locations:

  • January 18, 2012

9:00 AM in Fort Benton at the Ag Center

2:00 PM in Lewistown at the Eagles

  • January 19, 2012

9:00 AM in Great Falls at the Heritage Inn

Attendees are asked to register with the MFU office at 452-6406 or 800-234-4071 or via e-mail at mfu@montanafarmersunion.com.  With increased interest in oil and gas exploration west of the Bakken and into Montana, now is the time to learn what you need to know before being approached or signing a lease of your mineral rights.
