Legendary Texas Cattle Feeder Says Export Markets are Critically Important

by

This year the Texas Cattle Feeders Association is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary. Last week in Amarillo, 25 of the past TCFA presidents gathered to recount where the association has been, where its at and where its headed in the future. And one of those in attendance was the legendary founder of Cactus Feeders Paul Engler.

Like other segments of the cattle industry, cattle feeders deal with similar issues like cow/calf operators do. From the daily challenges of Mother Nature and Old Man Winter to ongoing regulatory pressure from Washington, DC, the past few years haven't been the best for those involved in the cattle feeding industry.

But still these cattle feeders press on.

During last week's gathering of past TCFA presidents, the Northern Ag Network's Russell Nemetz talked with Cactus Feeders Founder Paul Engler about the importance of exports to the U.S. beef cattle industry.
