Livestock Transportation Rules Delayed

by

The Electronic Logging Device (ELD) enforcement deadline for agricultural haulers is delayed by 90 days!

LMA and several key industry stakeholders continue conversations with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) to find needed relief for livestock haulers.

LMA has formally supported a petition for an ag-specific delay of ELD enforcement so that live animal haulers can receive clarification and hours of service flexibility. FMCSA indicated today that a 90 day waiver of enforcement specific to ag haulers will be announced in early December and that necessary clarification surrounding the 150-air mile ag exemption will be made available. This move highlights the importance of public comment in favor of the ELD delay for live animal haulers.

LMA members, producers, and livestock haulers are encouraged to comment in favor of a delay here before November 30, 2017.
