Montana Auctioneer Makes WLAC Finals

by

Competitors from across the nation took part in the 2011 World Livestock Auctioneer Championships late last week and into the weekend.  Coming out of Friday’s semi-finalist interviews, ten finalists made it into Saturday’s round of competition.  Among those was Jaxon Allen of Lewistown, Montana.

When the smoke had cleared and the ring was quiet, Charly Cummings of Yates Center, Kansas was named as the 48th Annual World Livestock Auctioneer Champion.  The Reserve World Champion is Justin Dodson of Welch, Oklahoma.  Runner-Up World Champion is Dustin Focht of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

In total, 32 contestants were in this year’s competition held at the Upstate Livestock Exchange in Williamston, S.C.  Along with Jaxon, our region was also represented by Shane Wolff from Golden Valley, ND and Bill Cook from Huntley, MT.
