Montana Farmers Excited to Raise Soybeans

by

For farmers in the Midwest, growing soybeans isn’t anything new. But for farmers in Montana, advancements in plant breeding and technology is giving them the opportunity to raise this row crop where wheat has always been the number crop grown.

According to area seed retailers, Montana farmers this year have planted around 10,000 acres of soybeans with delivery elevators located in Nashua, Glendive, Three Forks and Pompey’s Pillar.

Russell Nemetz takes us to a farm near Hardin, MT where they’ve decided to plant soybeans for the very first time.
