Montana Woolgrowers Offers Scholarship for Young Entrepreneur Program

by

The Montana Woolgrowers Association is spearheading the search for young producers to represent Montana at the American Sheep Industry's Young Entrepreneur Program during their Annual Convention in Scottsdale, Arizona, January 27-30th. If you are interesting in going or know of any young sheep producers, ages 25-40, please encourage them to apply!

There will be two parts to this program during the convention. Friday afternoon will have an industry-wide focus and Saturday will encompass producer issues, successes and opportunities. Social media, wool and lamb direct marketing opportunities, political action updates, and round table discussions will all have a place on the agenda. MWGA, along with a grant from ASI, will help cover the cost of registration. On a two day registration, the following meals are provided: Friday's lunch, Saturday's lunch, and the Saturday evening meal/banquet. MWGA will pay for the room for two nights and help with airline costs of up to $500. The total value of this trip is $1,000.

Here's how you apply: Email a one page letter to the Executive Secretary of the MWGA, Jesse Wallewein, at mtwga@outlook.com, by the 18th of December. The letter should contain your contact information, your history in the sheep industry, an overview of your current operations, and where you see your future in the sheep industry. If you have any questions, please call Jesse at (406) 450-3429.  We hope to see you in sunny Arizona!
