Happening in Helena today, Christian Mackay, Executive Officer of the Montana Department of Livestock will be addressing requests coming form the Montana Legislature’s Economic Affairs Interim Committee. The group is looking at the possibility of using Beef Checkoff dollars to address state brucellosis problems. Also, there has been talk of requiring brand inspectors in the state to work as agents of the state veterinarian in dealing with health inspections and potential subsequent brucellosis quarantines.
Christian’s update at the meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16.
