NCBA Announces 2018 Stockmanship and Stewardship Events

by

The National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) Stockmanship and Stewardship events provide beef and dairy producers with hands-on training, cattle handling demonstrations, beef quality assurance (BQA) certifications and more – all bringing value back to their operations. Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) serves as the premier sponsor of the Stockmanship and Stewardship program, allowing for the number and scope of the regional events to reach cattle producers in all corners of the country.

Mark your calendars for the five regional events that have been scheduled for 2018:

  • Aug. 24-25, 2018 | Clemson, South Carolina
  • Sept. 21-22, 2018 | Montrose, Colorado
  • Oct. 5-6, 2018 | Stephenville, Texas
  • Oct. 12-13, 2018 | Pasco, Washington
  • Dec. 12-13, 2018 | Tulare, California – Dairy focused event

During the Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade  Show in Phoenix, AZ, Russell Nemetz talked with NCBA Beef Quality Assurance Director Chase DeCoite on Cattlemen to Cattlemen about the Stockmanship and Stewardship program.

“We are proud to support NCBA with this important educational program,” said Steve Boren, vice president and head of the U.S. cattle business for BI. “From producers to veterinarians, everyone is engaged for the same reason: improving and searching for new tools and techniques that put cattle first. At BI, we believe putting cattle first naturally leads to doing the right thing. It's not something anyone needs to be told to do, it just makes sense on multiple levels. The Stockmanship and Stewardship events provide producers with new tools and ideas on improving cattle handling, health and well-being. We are very pleased to support this significant value-add, along with NCBA, to producers and veterinarians.”

The Stockmanship and Stewardship events will be led by clinicians Curt Pate and Dr. Ron Gill, who have hosted educational events at past NCBA trade shows in the trade show demonstration arena. Pate has been conducting demonstrations and clinics for more than a decade and will continue to entertain and educate audiences with his personal stories and innovative mindset. Dr. Gill is a renowned stockman and animal scientist for Texas AgriLife Extension who captivates the attention of cattlemen with his credibility as a rancher and ability to relate to his audience.
