Neal Hermanson Memorial Ranch Rodeo, Sidney MT

by

Sidney, MT–NILE sanctioned ranch rodeo in Sidney, MT this Saturday raises money for youth scholarships.

At the Richland County Fairgrounds this Saturday cowboys and cowgirls alike will gather for the annual Neal Hermanson Memorial Ranch Rodeo at 2 p.m.

Each year this ranch rodeo takes proceeds and designates them to the Empty Saddle Memorial Foundation which honors and memorializes lost loved ones whose lives were shaped by the bond between horse and rider. Funds are given out as medical aid and scholarships to deserving recipients.

This memorial rodeo is named after Neal Hermanson who passed away in 2008 at the age of 23. He was a ranch kid that had a calling for horses and cattle. At the rodeo Neal's horse is led around the arena in a dolefully empty saddle. However, Neal wasn't one for melancholic days so the ranch rodeo will have plenty of exciting action too.

The events scheduled are Ranch Bronc Riding, Wild Cow Milking, Team Doctoring, Team Branding, and Team Trailering. Prepare for grit and determination at it's finest from the competitors.

The winning team from this rodeo will be qualified to compete in the NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals Oct. 14 during Rancher's Day at the NILE. This is a big incentive for many of the competitors because the venue is large, indoor, and has instant replay on big screens. More enticingly, the winner from the NILE Ranch Rodeo is eligible to compete at the Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championship Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas.

The NILE is proud to have the Neal Hermanson Ranch Rodeo as one of sanctioning partner because they too work to preserve and embrace the western lifestyle.
