New Life Breathed Into Death Tax Reform

by

A new amendment to a small business bill could permanently repeal the estate tax.

The new twist came Monday in the Senate as Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Steering Committee, introduced his amendment to permanently end the death tax as part of the debate on The Small Business Jobs Act.

He also “tweeted” to his followers via the social networking site Twitter on Monday that he’d “work to force a vote this week to permanently kill the death tax.”

The Small Business Jobs Act is set to be on the Senate floor this week. The House passed a similar bill in June.
