North Dakota Harvest Hotline Activated

by

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has activated the North Dakota Harvest Hotline for farmers who need combining services and independent combiners who are looking for work.

“If you need someone to combine your fields or if you are a harvester looking for a job, call us at (701) 328-2234,” Goehring said. “We will put your name in the Harvest Hotline database and match you up with other callers.”

Goehring said the service is free of charge.

“We are already getting calls from both farmers and combiners,” Goehring said. “The harvest is running behind schedule and that’s putting a lot of pressure on producers and combiners to get the crops harvested quickly. The Harvest Hotline was created for this kind of situation.”

Goehring said North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) employees will answer calls to the hotline weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend callers can leave a message.

First used in 1992, when adverse weather conditions caused a heavy demand for custom combining, the Harvest Hotline has been offered annually as a free service for farmers and combiners.
