The annual NPGA convention in Minot, N.D., Jan. 25-26, will highlight the International Year of Pulses with special speakers such as Val Farmer and Orion Samuelson. Samuelson, who grew up on a dairy farm in Ontario, Wis., joined WGN radio station in 1960, and as host of “The U.S. Farm Report,” he became the “best-known voice” of agriculture in America.

Farmer, from Wildwood, Mo., is a clinical psychologist specializing in family business consultation and mediation with farm families.

The two day event opens with registration at 11:30 a.m. and the program kicking off at 1:00 p.m. You can design your day to meet your needs with two tracks to follow. Back by request, again this year we will be having break-out sessions! We have packed a lot of information into one afternoon to provide a more open forum. At around 4:30, sit down and listen to the “Voice of Farmers and Ranchers”: Orion Samuelson, an American broadcaster, most widely known for hosting U.S. Farm Report. To top-off the day, all attendees are welcome to the exhibitors’ social followed by the platinum sponsors’ dinner.

Day two will be jump-started with the NPGA Annual Business Meeting, followed by a regional/international marketing update. Dr. Val Farmer will follow the awards luncheon, which is open to all attendees. A full agenda has been set for this event, and is on page 6 or you can get it on the NPGA website at www.northernpulse.com.
