Nuclear Worries Hammer Commodities

by

Four days after a deadly earthquake and resulting tsunami rocked Japan, fears about a nuclear crisis there are hammering the commodity markets.  We are part of this lower picture with much of the cattle futures limit down (see livestock markets) and wheat dramatically lower (see grain markets) Tuesday.

Jim Bower of Bower Trading spoke with us about the situation.

Jim also added that a lot of people were dumping a lot of money into commodities that didn’t necessarily have the knowledge they needed to do so.

Wheat, he says, may have already seen its top for the year.
