Pepsi Refresh Project Funds HSUS

by

Despite letters of concern from the agriculture industry, the Pepsi Refresh Project’s website shows that it did give a $250,000 grant to the Humane Society of the United States.  They also gave a $50,000 grant to a cause titled “$50,000 to Stop healthy animals from being fed antibiotics!”

Much speculation surfaced prior to the Project announcing if the November winners voted in by the public were eligible under their own rules.  In the official application guidelines, it strictly states that applications cannot to any degree “challenge, lobby for or seek to change current laws, or enact any new laws.”  There is also a stipulation about the budget of the receiving organization being less than $25 million.
