Register for First Public Meeting of Revisiting Brucellosis in the Greater Yellowstone Area

Join us for the first in-person public meeting of the National Academy of Sciences' committee for the study, “Revisiting Brucellosis in the Greater Yellowstone Area.” The provisional committee will hear about the current state of knowledge on brucellosis and current management practices. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 1 from 1:00 – 5:30 pm MDT and Thursday, July 2 from 8:30 am – noon MDT at the campus of Montana State University.

The committee will hear from the federal agency sponsoring the study–the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service– along with speakers representing the National Park Service and Montana's Department of Livestock and Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. Additional experts will also present on brucellosis transmission dynamics, elk ecology, wildlife management and conservation practices, and the impact on livestock production.

This is an information-gathering meeting for the committee in which the speakers are invited to provide input to the committee. The public is invited to attend the meeting or to view the live webcast.
