Rivalry in the Rodeo Arena–Spotlighting the Next Generation of Rodeo Athletes

Billings, MT-Each night offers something different to suit everyone. Rodeo rivalry heats up the arena for the annual Cat/Griz Chute Out Thursday night.New this year is the Montana State High School Rodeo Showcase; putting the spotlight on the up and coming superstars of the rodeo world.
The biggest sports rivalry in the state of Montana, the Montana State University Bobcats against the University of Montana's Grizzlies,will battle head to head on the toughest bulls, broncs and timed events to earn points for their teams throughout the night.
Also competing will be the top two kids in the Montana State High School Rodeo Association. Come cheer for these young athletes as they chase their hopes and dreams of someday competing at the professional level.

 

Fall High School Rodeo competition was turned up a notch with the announcement that the top 2 kids in the Montana State High School Rodeo association would receive an invite to the NILE.

Thursday night of the NILE rodeo fans will in attendance at our annual Cat Griz Shoot Out will have the rare opportunity to witness an event with this mix of rodeo athletes. Each ProRodeo event will feature top rodeo athletes from around the country.  The final two rides in each event will feature the top 2 competitors from the HS association. While they won't be competing against the professional athletes, this allows them to perform under the lights of the big show and in front of huge crowds in the Metra Arena. All of us involved with the NILE are excited to invite these future superstars to join us in Billings for the first annual NILE High School Showcase.

The NILE ProRodeo, in its 48th year, is the largest Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) in Montana. This year's NILE event kicks off the 2016 PRCA rodeo season. The NILE Rodeo provides a launching pad for contestants to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, in December of next year.
