See the Flood Waters that Stopped a Fair

by

A big part of our heritage in America is getting to go and enjoy the state fair. The stock shows, auctions, concerts, and, of course, the carnival rides always make for a good time. However, that’s not going to be the case for North Dakota this year. The damage caused by the recent flood in Minot left the difficult decision of canceling, for the first time in its history, to the North Dakota State Fair Board and General Manager Ranae Korslien.

Last week the Northern Ag Network’s John Walton had a conversation with Ranae about the difficult decision.  Below are the first and second half of that discussion:

Part 1:  What are you doing now?  Why didn’t you just change venues?

Part 2:  Are you looking forward to next year?  How great has the staff been?  Has the water gone down?

For more details on ticket refunds, visit the North Dakota State Fair website.

While the water is now mostly receded, the pictures below show the devastation.  CLICK HERE to be directed to more of their images.
