Should CME Change its Livestock Trading Hours?

by

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is now asking for customer input on its hours of operation.

The following is a release from CME Group:

CME Group constantly seeks feedback from customers about our products to ensure that contract specifications and trading hours meet their needs and provide timely benchmark prices for the industry.

We have received a number of requests asking for the re-examination of the CME Globex trading hours for Livestock products: Live Cattle, Feeder Cattle, and Lean Hog futures and options. Accordingly, we are reviewing CME Globex trading hours for Livestock to ensure their alignment with customers’ needs.

To this end, we invite customers to provide feedback about their preferences for CME Globex Livestock trading hours. All CME customers and those who access CME Livestock prices are encouraged to participate. All responses will be kept confidential and neither individuals nor firms will be identified.

The tool for providing your feedback is available here. We will accept feedback until Tuesday, August 19, 2014.

Thank you in advance for your input and we look forward to hearing from you.
