March 26, 2015 – 1:31pm – Gardiner FFA Advisor Lori Hoppe spoke with Lane Nordlund on behalf of the Gardiner FFA Chapter who took a very special photo which went viral earlier this year.

Lori said that her students came up with idea for the photo after becoming frustrated with the identify of the organization being perceived as “only for farmers and ranchers.” So, P.J. Thomas came up with the idea of the photo including students dressed in various identities and teams in which they take part such as volleyball, basketball and FFA.  Taylor Manry then came up with the slogan “United by Diversity”, which was selected by the chapter.

The Gardiner FFA chapter has only been around for 2 years and is in a part of the state with little production agriculture and a large amount of natural resources. Thus, Lori explained that it is essential for kids to understand that agriculture takes many different forms.

Gardiner FFA has the photo featured in their booth here at the MT State FFA Convention.
