USDA: Montana Farmers to Plant Less Spring Wheat
Winter wheat seedings, however, are up 2.5 million acres!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is forecasting Montana farmers will plant less spring wheat this year than the past two years.
Spring wheat seedings are estimated to be down 350,000 acres this year to 2.6 million acres, the agency reported. Winter wheat seedings, however, are up at 2.5 million acres. That’s 500,000 more acres than 2013 and 200,000 more acres than 2012.
All wheat dedicated acreage is expected to be 5.65 million acres compared to 5.46 million last year and 5.8 million in 2012, according to the USDA.
