While speaking to the Wyoming Stock Growers Association at the 2010 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show, Steve Foglesong told the crowd that he didn’t initially think there would be so much interest in the proposed restructuring of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s governance structure. Steve, an Illinois producer and president of the Association, told the crowd that they are hoping to make the organization more efficient and responsive to ranchers.
Afterwards, in an interview with Northern Ag Network, he let us know that they hope to release the final draft publicly on June 18. He emphasized that this is just a draft.
Steve discussed what the NCBA leadership is doing now.
Steve tells us they’ve been listening to recommendations and it is their hope to go back to Secretary Vilsack next week with what has been suggested to them.
