CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is holding a public meeting in regards to Wyoming’s Gray Wolf Management Plan and Addendum – Clarification of the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission’s Commitment to Manage for a Recovered and Sustainable Wolf Population in Wyoming. There is also a public comment period through November 10 related to the proposed rule.

All interested parties are encouraged to attend the public meeting to be held Nov.4 at 6.p.m. at the Lander Game and Fish regional Office.

Written comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. Nov. 10 by mailing: Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604 or through the Game and Fish website at wgfd.wyo.gov. Copies of the proposed new rule are available at the same address, on the Game and Fish website or at any regional office.

Signed comments will be presented to the Game and Fish Commission before they address the new proposed rule at their Nov. 13 meeting in Buffalo.

The management plan and addendum were adopted in an emergency rule Sept. 24, 2014 in response to a Sept. 23, 2014federal court ruling concerning the status of gray wolves in Wyoming. An emergency rule was put into effect as there was insufficient time to promulgate a final regulation through the regular Administrative Procedures Act public process.
