Wyoming Beef Council Seeks Range Cattle Producer

by

The Wyoming Beef Council (WBC) has an upcoming vacancy for a producer of range cattle.  The term for Lacee Sims, Evanston, who currently serves in this position will expire June 30, 2020.  Having served two consecutive terms, Ms. Sims is not eligible for reappointment. This position is open to any Wyoming producer of range cattle.  The position description and application are available on the WBC website.

The mission of the  Wyoming Beef Council is to increase beef demand domestically and internationally for the benefit of Wyoming farmers and ranchers. The Council ensures responsible and effective allocation of checkoff funds to improve the marketing climate for beef and beef products. Members serve without compensation but are reimbursed for actual mileage and lodging. For more information on beef checkoff funded activities in Wyoming, visit wybeef.com.

Governor Gordon will appoint a producer of range cattle to this position from applications received by the WBC.  Applications are due to the WBC office no later than April 30th. Letters of recommendation and support are encouraged.  All applications will be sent to the Governor in early May for appointment to a three-year term that will begin July 1, 2020.

Please contact Ann Wittmann, WBC executive director at 307-777-7396 with any questions about the vacancy or the associated duties.
