LARAMIE, WY –The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation recently awarded nine college scholarships to the children of Farm Bureau members.
“Providing opportunities for our members’ children to receive a college education is what the Farm Bureau scholarship program is about,” Wyoming Farm Bureau President Perry Livingston said. “This year the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation will provide $5,500 in college scholarships to children of Farm Bureau members. Additionally, most county Farm Bureaus also offer scholarships.”
The Livingston-King scholarship is valued at $1,500. The scholarship is given in honor of former state presidents of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation Herbert D. Livingston and H.J. King as well as Buddy and Norma Livingston, the parents of WyFB President Perry Livingston. The scholarship was awarded to Skyler Miller, of Goshen County. Skyler is the son of Paul and Christine Miller. He will be a freshman at the University of Wyoming studying animal biology.
The five Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation scholarships are $500 each. The recipients are: Lexi Dockery, of Lusk, the daughter of Matthew and Tandy Dockery; Taylen Fornstrom, of Pine Bluffs, the daughter of Todd and Laura Fornstrom; Ashley Hyche, of Wheatland, the daughter of Ryker and Carrie Hyche; Dawson Hoover, of Pinedale, the son of Kirk and Patricia Hoover; and Amanda Lewton, of Lusk, the daughter of Kent and Ann Lewton.
The three continuing education scholarships are also $500 each. The continuing education scholarship recipients must submit at least two years of college transcripts.
The recipients are: Chelsea Baars, of Lusk, the daughter of Kevin and Denise Baars; Eilish Hanson, of Laramie, the daughter of Jeb Hanson and Lisa Hanson; and Ryan Geving, of Meeteetse, the son of Craig and Julie Geving.
Scholarship applications are due March 1 each year and are available at local county Farm Bureau offices or at www.wyfb.org
